Questions and Answers

Who decides the price?

The company that does the work. It depends on the pest, the size of the home and the treatment, and you hear the price from them before anything starts.

What areas do you cover?

Ellicott City and the rest of Howard County, including Columbia, Elkridge, Clarksville, Woodstock and Marriottsville, plus Catonsville in Baltimore County. See the service area list, or call and we'll check your street.

What do people here call about most?

Stink bugs and mice in the fall, carpenter ants and termite swarmers in spring, ticks, mosquitoes and yellow jackets in summer.

Are the stink bugs ever going to stop?

Not entirely. They're established across Maryland. Sealing and a late-summer outside treatment cut the numbers that get in. Our stink bug guide has the timing.

We have a toddler and two cats. What should we know before anything gets sprayed?

Say so up front. Techs here work from the product label, and they can tell you which rooms or beds to keep everyone out of and for how long. Some jobs, like mouse sealing, involve almost nothing sprayed at all.

I don't want rat poison lying around the house. Does that rule out treatment?

Not at all. Plenty of mouse jobs in Howard County come down to snap traps and closing the gaps. When bait is part of the plan, it sits inside a locked station, never loose on a basement shelf. The page on getting mice out of an older home has more.

Is there a guarantee?

If there's a warranty, it's the company's to offer, so it's their terms that count. Ask on the call and get the terms in writing.

Can a shop or restaurant on Main Street call?

Yes. Say it's a business so we find a company that handles commercial work.

My building had flood repairs. Should I mention it?

Yes. It helps the tech know to look at lower-level framing and damp spots where carpenter ants or termites could move in.
